This is a story about writing the stories in the series in which this story is a part. However, this story is not really a part of the other stories because the storytellers are not really in those other stories, at least not as themselves. Here, they are themselves, discussing how to write a series of stories about one place, not realizing their discussion is to become part of the series.
Both Brian and Alex are men from Milwaukee who had at one point lived in West Allis and realized there was something different about the place. Different to them, but not necessarily different to people who live in West Allis, especially the lifers....
